Hi, my name is Hudson. I have an incurable and potentially life-threatening disease called JDM. I am very thankful for having such an awesome daycare (Zebra Zone) and pediatrician (Dr. Debra Bootin), because they helped me receive my diagnosis very early. I was diagnosed at the end of May 2012 at 2 1/2 years old. (As of August 2012) I am currently taking Prednisolone and Plaquenil daily, and I go in once a week for Solu-medrol and Methotrexate infusions, coupled with Leucovorin and Zofran. Once a month (for 3 months), I take IVIG infusions, and I have these ointments that I have to apply to my skin ulcers 5 times a day. At first I wasn't responding to the medications, which was very scary. I have a lot of ups and downs, but my doctor says my lab results look great and we are finally starting to see results physically now also. Actually, we just recieved news that all muscle inflamation in gone! I just started physical therapy, so I can start rebuilding my muscles and get really strong again. Hopefully, I am on my way to remission! I don't understand why I can't do all the things I used to do, and even though it is frustrating, I am trying to do what the doctor says so I can get better. We pray every night that God surrounds me with His angels and gives everyone helping me the wisdom they need to help me defeat this disease. I am very thankful we found the Cure JM Foundation and for all the love and support I have been shown. I hope you enjoy this website, whether you use it to monitor my progress, as a means of educating yourself or to help find ways to contribute to research. *** I would like to extend a very special thank you to ShelbyJune Photography for volunteering her time to take pictures of Hudson. She did an amazing job! We love her and her two beautiful, sweet girls!!! We are very grateful! *** |
